What is Your Philosophy of Life?
I'm using the dictionary definition: a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as
a guiding principle for behavior.
I see three methods of living with people. Each method is based on a belief of how people are
I going to express these in terms of how you may have seen people be handled in the past.
Have you ever seen the police use force on someone?
Have you ever seen a bully intimidate someone?
Have you ever seen parents force a child to eat when the child was not hungry or did not like the
Each of these examples were of using force to make someone do what was wanted against their
will. The self-determinism of the individual was ran over by the dominating person.
Hitler used this method on millions of people. He lead his country to the destruction of Europe and
his own nation.
Imprisoning people or even killing people via shooting or electric chairs all run over the self-
determinism. Similarly, the psych with his electroshock machines, surgery and drugs, all destroy
the self-determinism of people. Cages people, dead people, people made into vegetables lack
Using force to change people is wrong. There are better ways.
However in troubled times, people are not always sane and sometime force must be used to
protect life and property. In those situations, the temporary use of force is justified.
A Less Obvious Method of Control.
What happens very often is a weak person seeks to control a stronger person. Strength of
personality or body strength both are seen as threatening to some weak people.
So these weak people seek to cut the stronger people down to a more easily controlled size or so
They make snide comments that belittle people. They make less of what people think is good or
beautiful. They lie continuously. They blame others for their problems. They tell you lies about
others such as no one likes you or everyone things you're not going to succeed.
Here are a couple good examples, “You look good...for your age” or “You're healthy for your age”.
Both these complementing statements are qualified that “you are old” and less than beautiful or
less handsome or less than healthy. Here's another slant, “people older than you have done it”
which implies that you are old. In these cases, the consideration of age is used negatively and you
are the target.
A little off the subject, but worth commenting on, people often use age negatively on themselves.
Every time they use age to justify any weakness, they are putting themselves down. No one can
damage you like you yourself can.
Not having energy or strength, needing more sleep are very real. They are also a result of your
and my own actions. Don't use them to make others wrong or to invoke sympathy. It hurts
everyone when you do.

The Method I Use With Other People
I seek to raise their understanding of what I'm talking about or what I expect of them.
I give information to increase their reality about where I'm going, about what I'm trying to
I demonstrate ideas and concepts. I use simple examples to raise communication.
I try to express thing positively. I seek to avoid being angry and complaining about things (certainly
I'm not perfect about not complaining).
I drive for both Uber and Lyft. I have many conversations. I do my best to follow the above to
obtain cooperation and understanding.
Where people are emotional or fixed in their ideas, I avoid the subjects and any conflicts that might
arise. I choose my battles and during a short ride is no place to engage a hostile person. I don't do
