Mentions, Who, Why, When        072215

Twitter has evolved and evolved. I'm liked most of the changes though
getting some of the bugs worked out wasn't fun.

It may seem random how I select who I mention, why and when.

To some degree it is as I feel free to not mention anyone or to especially
mention someone.

When I work or have other obligations, my mentions are less. That means I
miss people that deserve acknowledgment. When I'm here I put in as much
time as I can.

You are important!

When I Get Far Behind.

There are times when I can not keep up with Mentions and certainly not with
the notifications.

When that happens, I work strictly on mentions. Unfortunately, this omits
people that hit the RT button and do not make a comment.

I apologize for this omission, for leaving out some people some times, but I
just can't reply to all.

There are two types of retweets.

First and most valuable is retweets of content, information. Second is
retweets of shout outs. I do value these but unless it is a slow day, I normally
do not respond to them. It is a question of how many hours do I have to
communicate on Twitter.

When my content is Retweeted, I will try to mention and acknowledge you.
If I can, sometimes, you'll get mentioned many times and acknowledged
many times. Other times, the mentions will be less than the retweets you did
for me.

Direct Messages (DMs)

I do not read them. As of this moment, it's been months since I glanced.

However, if you alert me you are sending me a DM, I'll look for it. I prefer
open “transparent” communication. I'm not like the government!

Questions or Direct Communication to Me.

I always reply if possible. Now if you're a troll, I will block without response.

Even if you're not a troll, my tolerance on being insulted is extremely short.

My Normal Time Line.

I almost never view the random tweets posted unless I am mentioned. I can't
read that fast!

This creates a situation where I don't retweet for people. Again, I apologize
for failing to give adequate exchange for the retweets done for me.

Mention me and I'll normally retweet content if I don't find offensive.

Following Back.

I normally follow back everyone. There are exceptions which I detailed in my
Following Back and How to Handle So Many.

There are some people that follow & then rapidly unfollow. I consider this
rude as they waste my time. If I have time, I'm likely to block. Usually, I just
unfollow them.

Twitter is all about communication. If I see someone who doesn't follow back,
I know they will never see my tweets. That makes their exchange out, their
communication only one way.

To avoid this, I attempt to mention my awesome supporters as often as
possible and to provide them with valid, important information. (I consider my
articles to qualify for this.

I'm open to communication. I'm willing to assist you if I can.  I wrote an article
on this
Assistance or Help.

That's about it.

One final note, as Twitter does make changes, how I operate, how I use
Twitter, changes. If there's a big shift, I'll probably change to maximize my
efforts. Hopefully, at that time, I'll think to update this!
