The other day, my 87 year old Mom and I were driving about town. As I backed out of a
parking place a couple people walked behind me. They were followed by a man. Neither
the couple nor the man seemed to notice my moving vehicle.
A bit later in the parking lot, we passed a man with a cane. I asked my Mom do you think
he noticed us. She didn't think he did.
Before I go to far, let me define awareness. Per Google, awareness is: knowledge or
perception of a situation or fact. Synonyms are consciousness, recognition, realization;
understanding, grasp, appreciation, knowledge, insight...
Another time, I was driving and thinking about something. That's always bad. My
awareness was not extended but interior on the issues in my mind. I put my awareness
far out and felt better.
Awareness of Current Environment
A person who is not aware of their current environment might step in front of a moving
bus. Someone who is not aware can trip over the steps they are walking up. All types of
unpleasant events can happen when people are not aware of their present time
On the other hand, one day when I worked for a school, I started walking across the
front lawn to go talk to a student. It was important so I was moving fast.
Without even hardly seeing it, I reached up with my left hand and deflected a soccer ball
kicked from about 25 yards away. As I had my car keys in that hand, it did hurt a little
but not what it would have had the ball struck me in the head where it seemed to
destined to land!
Another time, I was helping a friend pull down the attic cover. It had broken into 2 pieces.
As he moved them, one slipped from his grip, I immediately caught it before it had a
chance to fall.
In both these examples I was aware of my environment.
Distant and Awareness
How far does your awareness extend? If I really have your attention, probably most of
your awareness is on my article.
But to proceed, most people are aware of their bodies. Some people are not.
Have you ever seen someone on drugs or drunk who ran into something, cut or bruised
their bodies and didn't seem to feel a thing?
Also there are some people that have areas of their body that are numb, unfeeling.
As a guy, I know if I look at a woman, even in the distance, I can get a variety of
If they are unaware, they don't notice. If they are aware, they may tense up in fear, turn
in antagonism seeking a target, just not seem to notice or they might turn and smile.
I wrote an entire article on that: Brightness.
People's Awareness Extends Beyond the Physical Senses
Everyone has thought of someone and then they called! It happens all the time between
me and my wife. My friends are constantly getting my thoughts before I can voice them.
I've written several articles on this. Call it telepathy for lack of a better word. It does

How to Increase or Extend Your Awareness
How would you go about extending your awareness?
I'll give you a couple definite tips that work, get enough sleep, eat well and don't do
drugs or alcohol. Drugs and alcohol diminish awareness regardless of any momentary
If you look at the steering wheel in your car as you drive, your awareness might get you
killed. You could look up and increase your awareness.
If you look at the beautiful creature walking down the street as you drive, you could get in
an accident. Again, the road and other vehicles are in your path ahead of you.
If you look half a block ahead, you can see and anticipate situations and respond
If you look several blocks ahead and keep checking to the side and rear, you'll probably
have no problems.
You control your awareness to the degree you do so.
If you're inside, put your attention outside. Can you pick up anything, sight or sounds?
Noise in the distance means your awareness extends that far.
When I drive I often extend my awareness to the mountains around me.
When you're home or in your office try extending your awareness. You might not get
beyond the wall but you might find you can be aware of a lot more than you are used to
perceiving. It is not your imagination.
I'll give you one more example. I was interviewing a young lady about an upset she had
earlier. She was telling the story and I was fully tracking with the series of events.
But suddenly, I stopped her. I was aware that my attention had stuck on her story a few words back. I stopped her
and asked if she had changed the story to make it sound better.
She was embarrassed as I totally nailed her on lying to me. It wasn't important, no upset resulted or anything. I just
told her to tell me the truth so I could understand. You can't understand lies.
My awareness was keen enough to detect a lie at the very instant she went off track.
If you think back to different conversations, those that come up first will be those that contain lies. They never go
away as they are something you didn't understand. Do not let those moments go especially if they are important.
If it's about the size of the fish, let it go, not important :-)
I'm not saying it is easy, just that it can be done. If you need assistance, contact me.
Helping someone spot what condition(s) and what the solutions are to handle them is exactly what I do in life.
Improving the conditions of others is my destination and purpose in life.I have no products that you need to buy to get
better. A little true knowledge can go a long way. I also do not ask that you believe anything!
You are worthy of help as I know you have already helped many others and life probably owes you!
Routinely I say #EverythinWill_B_OK!I believe that is true!
